If your employer is not following safety rules, you have the right to speak up. You can tell your employer if you believe your workplace is unsafe or unhealthy. And you have the right to report your employer to the appropriate government agency. Based on the type of complaint it can be to the federal government, which is OSHA (United States Department of Labor: Occupational Safety and Health Administration); to the state government, which is Cal-OSHA (also known as the California Department of Industrial Relations); or to the local health department in your county, like in San Francisco, Alameda County, San Mateo County, Marin County, or Santa Clara County.
This includes health and safety violations for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
